Museums

In the heart of Ypres - on the Square - you can find the In Flanders Fields Museum.  The museum has been totally renovated since June 2012.  Although the theme of the Museum is universal it is rooted in time and space.  The permanent exhibition explains the run-up to World War I, the devastation of the war years and the post-war period.

In addition to the permanent exhibition, there are also temporary exhibitions that are worth visiting.

Totally new since 2018 is the Yper museum situated in the Cloth Hall on the Market Square. An interactive museum about the history of Yper, from the Middle Ages till now. A visit worth for young and old.
A cat's paw wristband will guide you through the Museum. Tickets available in the Albion Hotel.

Hooge Crater Museum
The Hooge Crater Museum is housed in a restored chapel located where one of the fiercest battles of Ypres was fought and right opposite the ‘Hooge Crater Cemetery'. The private museum is highly recommended because of its life-sizes reconstructions of war scenes, its extensive collection of weapons, equipment and photos. You can also enjoy an impressive ‘trench art' collection in the cafeteria.

TIP: Discover the museum with the following package:
